Help, Help and Help some more . . . I bought a condo 2 years ago, only to discover it is HUGELY Rat and Mouse infested. Not a little bit - running down the halls, rats in the living room, etc. I cannot find any government agency that deals with this - I want out, of course - but there is no way I'd sell or rent this RAT CONDO to anyone else.

Thanks for the thorough reply, Frank. Great stuff. So in regard to the reply "Yes, a big loss. How much you put down has nothing to do with how much you lose. It has to do with how much you bring to the table." ... I am a little confused. For the sake of simplicity, let's say I put down $50k on my place and bought it for $300k. So I still owe $250k or a little less. Now if I can sell it for $250k (roughly what I owe), am I not essentially kissing good-bye to that $50k that I had put down a couple of years ago? (And is there consolation in knowing that whatever new thing I would buy would be equally depressed? That is, do I lose as a seller but gain as a buyer -- considering the upside of the new purchase?)
